Cruise: Bahamas on the Royal Caribbean

I paid $360 for my ticket via a family plan, went on the trip with a good friend of mines. The cruise ship we took was the Royal Caribbean. Now.... this was definitely the cruise ship for older people and families, etc. so if your looking for a full-time party ship I have heard the Carnival is good. My favorite part of the cruise was a live trivia event they had. The contestants had to guess the ending of songs or they lost for the grand prize of a key chain... it was nice to see strangers coming together and singing. The second part was the Captain's Dinner of course, every one was dressed up and the kitchen crew came out singing and dancing at the end.

Nassau, Bahamas was full of life when we docked and I immediately saw the friendly, warm, inviting personalities that the locals had. They were literally playfully punching each other, choking each other && telling stories of how they all knew each other from way back. If I could take anything back from the Bahamas, it would be the sense of community among the people. I have faith that the United States will also restore that community sense one day.

Anyways... the tour guide we chose out of the bunch was Uncle Sammie, he charged $35 for a 5+ tour. He showed us some of everything, including plants that grew on the corner and helped local residents with chronic diseases such as diabetes.

Senior Frogs, is the go to place in the Bahamas for drinks, a good laugh, and food. It's the closet bar coming off the port from the cruise ship.

The Prime Minister was out in the streets taking pictures with people. This surprised me, as I have yet to see the Mayor, etc. in the low income areas in my hometown performing a meet and greet.

Coco Cay, Bahamas is a little island off the mainland that the Royal Caribbean owns... so if you go on another cruise ship, you'll probably go to another island. It was beautiful, the water was crystal, clear... The Catch 22 was that it started storming and we had to get off the island sooner than anticipated. I will tell you right now, the scariest thought is being trapped on a small island when the wind is blowing sand in your eyes and your braids are whip lashing you.
